About Tasteful Things Store

Tasteful Things is a gourmet food store located in Bridgton Maine founded in 2015 by Nate & Carole Sunday. Both Nate and Carole had a vision of one day owning a business of something special, and one of their special passions is cooking (and baking). After relocating from Central Pennsylvania in 2002, Nate decided to leave his corporate profession behind and begin the venture. Besides cooking, Nate loves to garden and use fresh herbs whenever possible, so he thought about incorporating this passion into a business. After doing some serious research “Tasteful Things” was born.

Dog Days Of Bridgton

Dog Days of Bridgton is an event that is hosted and organized by Nate and Carole Sunday, owners of Tasteful Things in Bridgton ME.  Nate and Carole have been proud parents of dogs and cats throughout their lives and are passionate about the well-being of all animals. And because of this, they’ve always aspired to do something special and make a difference.  In 2018, Dog Days was created as a fundraiser to benefit local pet rescues and organizations including Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills, Pets for Vets, and Finally Home Sr. Dog Rescue.  Nate and Carole chose Bridgton ME as the place to have Dog Days because of its dog-friendly environment and it shows almost every Spring, Summer and Fall (and even Winter) day with the many dog-friendly trails, hotels and lakes.  The day of the event is a time to bring the community together to meet and mingle with other dogs and dog lovers while raising money for these special rescues and organizations.  There’s so much to enjoy during the day including games, contests, music, vendors food, dog rescues, and much more.

Dog Days is always held the 3rd Saturday in August at the Bridgton Community Center on 8 Depot Street, Bridgton Maine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Nate and Carole want to thank all the sponsors, vendors and especially the volunteers because without them we would not have a successful day!

When life gives you lemons… Johanna & Steve Corman woke one morning and met necessity head-on after Steve lost his job to budget cuts after nineteen years of teaching. A strong constitution sprinkled with a bit of imagination, an entrepreneurial heart, and a long love-affair with seltzer (fizz); Johanna (though she didn’t know it at the time) struck liquid gold. She told her husband Steve, “Mute the TV and listen!”

Both, having a fondness for flavors and beverage making (with or without spirits), created a line of products for the home bartender and beverage enthusiast that includes a line of botanical bitters, Spirit Sippers – a jar filled with fruits, herbs & spices where your favorite spirit is added to create a ‘bar in a jar’ perfect of picnics, camping, happy hour, or any occasion that calls for a special cocktail. Also included in the collection are Botanical Bitters, Maine Pine Syrup, Bitter Infused Sugar Cubes, that pair beautifully with that Old Fashioned, champagne, tea, coffee or hot toddies. All products are made with clean, all-natural ingredients and locally sourced when available.

maine Homestead

Maine Homestead began with a bag of cucumbers and a deep-rooted love of family and Maine. In 2011, my grandfather’s garden produced an abundance of pickling cucumbers, and he brought me a shopping bag full. Wanting to put them to good use, I made a batch of Bread & Butter pickles—his favorite. They turned out great, and I quickly fell in love with the process of preserving fresh ingredients. By the end of the season, my house was filled with jars of pickles, jams, and jellies, and I had run out of friends and family to share them with! Today, what started as a small hobby has grown into a thriving business with 15 employees, and products in over 850 stores across the U.S. Our best-selling Maine Wild Blueberry Jam is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, and Maine Homestead has become a go-to gift option for those looking to share a taste of Maine with family and friends.
Despite our growth, we remain true to our roots—crafting high-quality jams, jellies, pickles, and relishes using traditional methods and the quality ingredients. With every jar, we celebrate the flavors, traditions, and community that make Maine so special, and we’re proud to share a piece of it with you.

Since 1945, Olivella’s parent company Umbria Olii International has been producing and marketing olive oil around the world for more than three generations – makers of the well known brand Del Papa 100% Virgin Olive Oil, based in Campello, in the region of Umbria, known as the Green Heart of Italy. What Is Real Evoo (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)?

Extra Virgin Olive Oils is one of the very best things you can use for your body, EVOO is a great source of antioxidant compounds, like vitamin E, vitamin K, oleacein, polyphenols and oleocanthal. It may help prevent heart disease, promote brain function, and protect against certain types of cancer. Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) has been a cornerstone of healthy eating for centuries—especially in the Mediterranean diet, which is linked to long life and low rates of chronic disease. This golden oil isn’t just delicious; it’s packed with monounsaturated fats and antioxidants that support heart health, brain function, and overall wellness. Tasteful Things purchases the EVOOs from Italy, Spain, Greece, Morocco and Chile from certified growers. Not only is it easy to use for roasting, frying, baking, or sautéing, but it’s also jam-packed with antioxidants and heart-healthy fats. We are proud to share the great EVOOs from trusted vineyards. Come in for a tasting.

Balsamic Vinegar

Balsamic Vinegar originated around the 11th century in the town of Modena, where all of our balsamic vinegars come from. It was used for cooking, medicinal uses and even as currency at one time. Historically, in the area of Modena and Reggio, the vinegars produced in the houses were made more pleasant by flavoring them with herbs, licorice, rosemary, roses, vanilla, or by producing them with different raw materials. To this day the producers guard the integrity and the practice of making true balsamic from Modena. True aged balsamic vinegar is aged in “batteries” or casks are made of different woods such as chestnut, cherry, oak, mulberry, ash, and juniper or a combination for complexity.

While most use balsamic vinegars for salads this is not how Italians would use them, but what you do in your own home is up to you. Some other ideas for balsamic vinegars; Meats(Beef, Chicken and Pork), Fish, desserts, Ice Cream and Yogurt, Drinks(Lemonade at Dog Days made with Lemon balsamic) and specialty salads like caprese, Tomato Cucumber and even Chicken salad. Trust all of Tasteful Things balsamic vinegars come from Modena. Tasting done on site.
